“The cost of going to college has increased beyond the reach of many people over the past few years. This may be especially true for young people from families headed by a single parent. Higher education can open the door to employment opportunities that promote financial success over a lifetime. Additionally, higher education can expand a person’s knowledge of history, the arts, science, and many other subjects.
Such awareness can enrich a person’s life and also equip them to become a more engaged citizen.

These reasons are why I support the Scholars Fund for Education.
A donation is an investment in the future of a person and the future of our country.”
— Dr. Richard Cohoon, Distinguished Emeritus Professor of Geology, Arkansas Tech University

The Scholars Fund for Education provides financial assistance to low-income single parents pursuing post-secondary education.

Many single parents in our community are living with generational poverty. We aim to move them from a life dependent on tax-funded state and federal assistance programs and local services, to one of self-sufficiency, but we cannot achieve our goals alone.
